VANDEROCKER DEBUTS DESERT DREAM-HAZE MUSIC VIDEO FOR MESMERIZING SINGLE “DRIFTWOOD”!
Los Angeles, CA – LA based desert dream-rock act VanDeRocker has released a new music video today for the breakout single “Driftwood.” The song is found on the recently released record, Point Defiance, which is available now.
“”Driftwood” is a song about duality. The kind that is often kindled by love, loneliness, or when we separate ourselves from society for whatever reason- not feeling a sense of belonging, being misunderstood, whatever. Driftwood addresses the bigger questions that stem from all that- how can we find the beauty that makes it all worth something, and how can we still feel connected to the bigger story, the divine, when we are suffering?” - Adrienne VanDeRocker
The candid single syncs seamlessly with the dream-like music video released today. VanDeRocker adds, “This video’s studio scenes were filmed in Los Angeles, and the desert was filmed, of course, in Joshua Tree- as Joshua Tree was where the song was written and largely tracked. That beautiful place naturally had to become a part of the scenery for the video- it’s heart and the home of the piece.”

VanDeRocker is an American indie-rock project led by Adrienne VanDeRocker, who comes from a Dutch-American family of classical musicians in Austin, TX. Being the writer for the project, much of Vanderocker’s classical influence along for her proclivity toward circus and vaudeville can be heard throughout the VDR’s catalog. VDR’s early music was an experimental variation of retro rock blended with electronica. Following their debut album, Jupiter’s Kiss, VDR broadened its sound with a variety of singles ranging from devotional music, to roadhouse blues, trip hop, and as well as comedic opera music. The project continues to experiment with musical styles.
