Having been raised in the gritty landscape of Houston, Texas, artist, designer, and musician TOD JUNKER developed a flair for seeing beyond the surface and finding repurposed beauty out of what most would consider 'junk.'
Combined with his interest in science fiction and horror movies and magazines and rebellious nature, TOD rose to prominence as a local artist and began deconstructing clothes and radically changing or creating them from scratch. He became skilled at screen printing, weathering material, dyeing, and other techniques that allowed his unique fashion sense to blossom; a vision shaped by street life, punk rock, sci-fi, and horror, that looked unlike anything else. Thus sparked the birth of his own clothing company, JUNKER DESIGNS. His distinctive designs were quickly desired by several A-level artists in the music and film (*see below).
As JUNKER DESIGNS began to take off, TOD began transitioning between both Houston and Los Angeles. Having been in and out of bands since he had dropped out of high school, the back-and-forth necessitated his departure from the noted Texas hardcore rock group, Spunk, which saw him play stages with the likes of WHITE ZOMBIE and L7. Once he had found a natural pattern bouncing between the two cities, he was quick to showcase his D.I.Y. attitude and aggressive nature by forming the punk rock band, DIEFAST.
Fronted by TOD, the line-up includes Dane Sonnier and Jimmy Douglas on guitars, Rudy Olivarez on bass, and Chris Moye on drums. DIEFAST have recently finished recording a new full-length album that's expected out in the summer of 2019. Their debut single, "Handsome," which was recorded and mixed by Andrew Murdock (Alice Cooper, Godsmack), can now be heard here:
