GIBSON TV has premiered a new episode of the series titled “THE SONGBOOK” the acoustic-driven, all-performance series features stripped down performances from renowned artists and up-and-coming musicians in beautiful spaces across the globe.
In this new episode of “THE SONGBOOK,” guitarist/vocalist Steven Brodsky and guitarist Adam McGrath from CAVE IN sit down for a stunning play through of the song "Shake My Blood" from the band's latest album Final Transmission. A deeply personal record, it was completed after the tragic death of CAVE IN’s founding bassist Caleb Scofield.
The song “Shake My Blood” was my first opportunity to express what I was feeling about the whole situation," Brodsky explained at the time of the album's release. "It's a mix of extreme grief, frustration and anger. I was trying to do something to gain the clearest answer about whatever the next move might be.”
Of their appearance on "THE SONGBOOK," Brodsky and McGrath offer in a joint statement, "It was very cool of Gibson to have us perform an acoustic version of a Cave In song. We even snuck in part of a Joe Walsh song that day, jamming fireside in a canyon in Los Angeles last fall. As fans of sixties and seventies California folk/country/psych, the location and vibe was right up our alley."
